When is it?
Saturday and Sunday, June 6 and 7. Please register as soon as possible to help plan services and supplies! Here is the Schedule.
Where is the event?
Hack for Western Mass 2015 is at the UMass Center at Springfield, Tower Square, 1500 Main Street, Springfield, MA. Sponsored parking is available at the Civic Center Garage on 59 Harrison Street, a block from Tower Square.
What time do I need to get there?
The registration table opens at 8:30 am Saturday, and a light breakfast will be served until 9:00 when the main festivities start. If you’re traveling on I-91, allow extra time for the construction!
What should I bring?
Pack your laptop and charger. Wifi will be available. The venue’s projectors have all manner of inputs, so bring your adapters. We’ll have coffee and bottled water on hand, but feel free to bring your own water bottle to be environmentally friendly. We’re providing free meals, snacks, and coffee all weekend thanks to generous sponsors to fuel you while you’re working. Hooray!
Can I bring my kids?
Yes! There is a Youth Hackathon, including MineCraft, Scratch and MakerSpace sessions as well as a Youth Challenge.
Can I start thinking about projects before the event?
Yes! Although Challenge Teams are not chosen until Saturday Morning, you can preview the Challenge List and think about what you are interested in.
I’m so excited! Can you give me a more detailed sense of the weekend?
Sure! Just check out this post for more details on preparing for the hackathon and some tips for hacking.
